Health communication at HSPH

Text size

If you are a student and want to gain the tools to effectively deliver health-related information—information needed by the public to make informed decisions about public health, as well as information needed by policy makers to make informed policy decisions—then the Health Communication Concentration at the Harvard School of Public Health (HSPH) may be right for you.

The Health Communication Concentration was designed to provide a basic grounding in communication strategies to students at the HSPH. Two-year master's students and doctoral students are eligible to elect this concentration. Sample courses in the concentration include “Managing a Media Campaign,” “Public Opinion, Polling, and Public Policy,” and “Strategic Marketing Management,” among others. Upon graduation, the students will receive a letter certifying the completion of Health Communication Concentration requirements.

Dr. Viswanath chairs the Steering Committee for the Health Communication Concentration at HSPH and teaches health communication courses within this concentration.
